How credits work
Sign in with Apple and you start with $1.00 of free translation credit. Top up in the app — $1, $5, or $10 — and every dollar you pay is a dollar of balance. Translation costs about $0.20 per minute, deducted live from the balance shown in the app. No subscription, no recurring charges.
Refunds
Purchases go through Apple, so refund requests do too: visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID you purchased with. See our Terms of Use for how a refund affects your balance.
The other person can't hear the translation
Turn the volume up and check the phone isn't in silent mode. ALOUD works best with the phone lying flat between you — both of you should be within about arm's reach.
Microphone access
ALOUD needs the microphone to hear speech. If you declined the permission, re-enable it in iPhone Settings → Apps → ALOUD → Microphone.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your sign-in and your server-side data, including all transcripts, and forfeits any unused credit. If you want your conversation history, export it from History first — deletion can't be undone.

ALOUD translates between 70+ languages. If a language you need is missing or performs poorly, tell us — it helps us decide what to improve next.
